I've a half finished joke about committed Christians (or was one Jewish?), and mud slinging/not sticking/hoping these guys are still clean... or maybe something about whole team being whiter than white... Anyone want it?

I read about that this morning on one of my flipboard feeds. Understandably it doesn't go into mechanics.
Eat sh*t and...?

I couldn't read all of that article because she was like what if like I were to like go out tomorrow for like 2 hours...
It's an interesting concept really. Faecal implants have already been used by the obese to dramatically change their physiology by implanting faeces into the gut from someone who is naturally skinny. Does this mean an already lean athlete struggling to get rid of that last bit of body fat without resorting to the likes of cortisol etc could implant from someone who is naturally shredded and get a gain? How do you even police that? Gut bacterial passport?

Verbruggen died . Guess that should be in here as his legacy.
-
• #6358
How do you even police that?
Why would you even want to? People swap gut flora by accident all the time. If we get to a point where people are using GM bacterial implants to do stuff nobody else is doing we might have a problem, but just picking and choosing among wild strains seems as innocuous as having a favourite cheese.

If I found out Montgomery's Cheddar was performance enhancing my life would be complete.

• #6360
It is. You're just getting the dosage wrong.

Like all cheeses, it works best in suppository form.

If you thought blood doping was a seedy, grubby business, then what will you make of this;
-
• #6363
Ooft. Serious.
-
• #6364
Ah, the traditional pre-Tour doping scandal.
EPO seems a bit old school nowadays though.
-
• #6365
I thought that too.
Unless it's more common. -
• #6366
He's denied it, of course.
Probably got his and Contador's blood bags mixed up.

Used to ride for Garmin, busted for doping, gets replaced by Zubeldia, ex Astana and Radio Shack. Oh the ironing.
Is that 13 Spanish riders in the Tour now? Heady days. -
• #6368
I wonder if microdosing is more common and than we hoped.
-
• #6369
tbh, compared to poo doping it seems positively salubrious by comparison. Who likes to think that the peloton's favourite Moser is Veronica?
-
• #6370
That poo stuff was a load of bullshit. I dunno why it even got passed around.

The two authors of the study appear to wheel something out every few years on the same subject

I wouldn't let @Doctor_Cake see that if I were you.

At least it's getting coverage. Terrible headline I agree... that's not what the paper says at all.
By the way, I made the paper free to access if you want to download and read it yourself from my website. There's a podcast interview with the lead author too (edit: although I don't see the podcast linked to the paper at the moment. Need to get that sorted out).
