it just does that, it's annoying, but it is still charging. I think if you touch the power button it shows you where the battery is at. It does at least charge quite quickly.
I also find it annoying that when charging on the move, there's no indication that it's charging (other than battery % going up slowly after a while), which with the slight unpredictability of hub dynamo charging is annoying. One of the few things my garmin 800 was better for in that it had a little lightning bolt symbol.
