The fact remains that, in a time of Tory imposed austerity, the population of Northern Ireland get more money from the UK Government per head than any other region. And the Tories have just found a minimum of £1 billion extra for them. That will, I think, have electoral consequences.
The only problem with that argument is that people like Theresa May don't seem to think that elections have consequences (when they carry on as normal even though their policies have not gained the majority support of the electorate).
