I had a moment the other night when a bat flew alongside me for ages and it brought it all back. It's worth doing for that sort of stuff alone!

80GI is fine for a 15 mile commute but I suspect a bit tall for 200+ miles hence my query, I think I'll treat myself to a 17t sprocket...

So...who wants two coach tickets?
They are early bird ones, so £25.99 each.
We're now planning to camp on Sunday night and ride back all/part way on Monday. -

Both tickets?

I used 47/17 (~72") for a fixed 24-hour ride (355 miles) and kinda wish I went a little bigger. Will use 50/17 (~77") for this as it's the gear I've been riding for yonks now. Ain't done any big rides though recently... Should be interesting!

Last year I rode back to Ipswich in sunshine. Lots of train capacity properly organised and no need to book. I'd recommend it. Although the previous year it rained most of the way back to Ipswich and then no trains due to a lorry hitting a bridge. Chaos? Wet cold chaos. I booked into the Railway Hotel across the road at 11.30am. Had a hot bath, ate burger and chips in the bath, drank IPA in the bath, watched tdf in the bath, slept for some hours not in the bath. Checked out at 5pm and caught a now-running train home to London. I didn't stay overnight although I do still have the room key. I wonder......

Does anyone have a gps route for Dunwich Dynamo and back again? I'm sure I've seen one that came back a slightly different route via the Blue Egg cafe, but can't find it now.

Yeh I think they have always taken reservations. And then it all goes to shoite. Weather. Legs. Beer. Navigation. So. Turn up and there'll be a space for you cos someone lost their beery, weary way. The staff are amazing at the station.

Ipswich station Joke du Jour.
Do you have a reservation?
No. Only a small flat in Mile End.

Most excellent choice of group image.

I was hoping the WhatsApp group icon would take a little longer to be recognised.
But still.... it's a good bike.

I was deliberately not saying what it was, hoping the suspense drives people wild with curiosity/desire...

I drafted you on your Gazelle a long way on that ride. In my head we were Gazelle brothers!

Ha! Thankfully, you weren't one of the people telling me off when my rear light smashed.
Hardnuts. I did it 44x16 single speed with rack and pannier and thought it was tough! Back to gears and no panniers this year :)
