If you get stuck, I can oil the balance jewels and lower jewels for free which may or may not give it a lease of life. The crown/stem will usually become loose when the bolt screw is loose, which is quite common; nothing to worry about. I'm over in Leytonstone, near the tube.

Miraculously, it started working again on Saturday morning! Really good of you, thank you, can I give you a shout next time I'm round that neck of the woods?

Yeah, sure. I've a lot of stuff waiting to be repaired for people at the moment, but I can at the very least tell you how it looks and show you where to tighten the bolt screw. Most old watches have a weak action due to thickened up old oil.
