I reported a scooter rider last week through Roadsafe and attached a link to hi-def footage of the incident, clearly showing the license plate of the vehicle, but the police have been in touch asking me to send them a DVD with the footage. Is this standard practice for legal reasons or something? Has anyone else had to snailmail evidence to the police for stuff like this?
If, in the future, they come to you for a written statement you can "produce" said DVD as a physical piece of evidence (Exhibit DNDHM/1) and refer to it as such in your statement.
