  • @Skülly have a look at prices on eBay. Sellers very rarely achieve asking prices (around 1500 on average for a well spec'd rohloff with quality dynamo). I've seen very good examples go for less than a G when seller allows market to dictate price.

What I find hilarious is that somebody would drop a G on a hub and have to rebuild the wheel every few thousand KM. 'but if you're touring in the Sahara and can't find a bleed kit for your hydraulics...'

    Meeeeh

  • Hehe^

  • Rolhoff for disc do exist btw. So you can have two separate unserviceable components in the Sahara if you really want.

  • 30000km on my Rohloff/wheels and the rims are still true after carrying me and 40kg of luggage half way around the world.
It did the job, I'm happy. Hopefully it will do someone else proud.
What it sells for , we shall see.

  • I should say that I'm not saying the bike isn't worth it. They are very expensive to buy new, obviously. They just seem to be subject to quite hefty depreciation on occasion.

The line about the rohloff is a personal thing, not a dig at seller. I'd really want hydraulics on such a costly hub.

@RichieArseCream glws. A friend and I are considering cycling up for a rummage if you're about at the weekend?

  • Unfortunately I am still here yes :)
Welcome up for a rummage, give us a ring /message on the day if you're making a special journey just to confirm.
    Cheers

Yes well there were a lot less Thorn Nomads about and Rohloff touring options when I bought mine . Not surprising if the resell value is a bit less now. So be it.
