Thanks I'll look them up. I went to a place in Kennington many years ago, I wonder if it's the same place.
Did something silly - i rode on a soft rear tyre yesterday. It was scary. I took corners as slow as I could and it still felt like I was drifting in a rear engined vintage sports car.In other news a friend had his Ktm stolen but who he thinks are the east end bike gangs (you know the ones ; balaclavas, no helmets and wheelies). Couple of weeks before he had a motorcycle-jack attempt.
If you're riding a ktm duke or scrambler affair take care out there please. -

Got fire extinguished today. Luckily, I'm a somewhat twitchy rider and generally keep the bike in gear at lights. The covered me a bit but I just launched off, the guy next to me wasn't so lucky and went down hard.
Those Tmax's are rapid.
Went back to check on the guy and he was up and bike a-ok. Turns out they're very well organised and once broken up, they can't really accomplish much. -

Sounds awful. Glad you're okay. It's getting worse and their tactics are becoming all the more alarming. Stay safe all.

Is this some new craze? Annoying.

Only to steal the bike. I have heard a couple of reports of this being used now.
I guess bikers now need to be aware of thieving scum more and more as well as everything else.

What's this?

Fuck that.
Met two London bikers whilst up torridon (Highlands) and warned them about recent scary shit bike jacking in Edinburgh but they didn't see much fazed by it, having to contend with that!
Police in Edinburgh now actively do not engage stolen motorbikes at all, so kids are having a right field day. Week or so back a German tourist was relieved of his ride, local riders found it stashed in a park and reported to police (with knowing the exact person it was stolen from but no direct contact details) and police did ZERO. AFAIK one of the local riders picked it up and got it back to the guy, but technically he could have been fingers with twoc in the process, sick really -

Where was the bike-jack attempt Gerald?
Also - was the KTM chained up?
Mine was nicked a year ago from outside my house then used 4 months later in a smash & grab in Knightsbridge - was a 950 SM which I thought was the crim bike of choice (rapid enough, good two up and can climb a flight of stairs if it had to). Have replaced it with a Duke 3 which wouldn't be so great in an armed robbery but would be even more fun to ride to destruction on some wasteland...oh dear.

Jack attempt was on the old Kent road in the middle of the day , it was double chained chained up when it was eventually stolen.

Don't take a bike unless you want it robbed.
Thry aren't bothering with cutting locks etc, straight to stabby stabby tactics -

Mechanic told me that this happened to a customer of his on a Vespa at traffic lights. They left him in the road and rode off on his bike. He's up and well now.
Motorcycle test needs to include what suspicious behaviour we need to look out for. -

Once upon a time it was bikers that were the hard nuts nobody dared to fuck with. What the hell happened?

surely these guys become bikers? They're the new 1%ers, everyone else on two wheels got too friendly I guess.

Some lowlife rat on a stolen moped isn't a biker.
