  • I wish Max had had the chance to keep driving. The kid has skills.

  • ^ dat start... incredible. he was extremely pissed off, hope RB/Renault get it together for the next races

  • I thought Max must have jumped the light for that start, but no, just mad skills.

  • He's the most exciting driver to watch when he's "on it"!

  • Is interesting.

    When does exciting become dangerous?

Not sure Vettel was that impressed.

  • Vettel did not complain.

  • At the Brazilian GP last year when he drove from 16th to podium in the wet. Immense skill.

  • I hope so, all-round great guy. It'd be nice to have another (relatively) fresh face on the grid with some pace.

  • Would certainly be better than that waste-of-a-car, Palmer.

  • I can't help but think that Renault are starting to feel the same way. I'm assuming they don't need the cash, unlike Lotus.

  • They've always known Palmer doesn't have the pace. Nick Chester said from the beginning (not in public) that he's just not quick enough. The Frenchies definitely want him out. I was told that Monaco was JP's last chance to prove himself. No doubt he'll be replaced pretty soon. Question is, by whom?

    Kubica? Alonso?...

  • Incredible lap.

    So smooth...

  • Monisha Kaltenborn has left Sauber. This is a real shame to me. I think there should be more women in F1. There are female engineers doing a good job, and a female boss was plus in my opinion.

  • Lewis takes pole, now he's second only to Schumey in the all-time list. Today he was 4-tenths up on second placed Bothas. Vettel will have to perform out of his skin to get a podium, since he's had his old spec engine reinstated, after his current engine gave up the ghost.

  • Some great saves by Massa today, thoroughly enjoyable to watch.

  • Yeah that on board footage with Massa had me wincing in my seat, amzing car control.

  • Good thing he came back eh?

  • There was an excellent drift on the last corner that I've yet to see in any of the highlights, I'll have to try to find that one again.

  • Personally I'd rather see another Verstappen/Ocon/Sainz in the seat. Massa's main claim to fame this year has been getting in the way of the championship leader.

Let's be honest, the only reason he's still around is because Stroll gave the team a huge bag of money and they need someone who knows how to drive an F1 car.

He's a lovely guy and quick on his day but he's way past his best and it'd be nice to get a new driver in that seat. And the other Williams seat...

  • I take it all back about Stroll. Second place was a great drive. Lewis was very very unlucky today. Happy to see Ricciardo get some luck at last. A great win. Points for Alonso. I should have put a bet on that one. Great drive from him as usual.

  • Stroll did a great job of soaking up the pressure, especially on a street circuit. Hopefully it'll boost his confidence and he'll have more consistent results.

Personally I still see him as one of the weakest drivers on the grid and he got his result today solely by keeping out of trouble (Considering he finished behind the 10th place starter and a guy who was a lap down at one point). I'm looking forward to seeing if his future performances step up as a result of today though. Unlucky to lose out on 2nd.

Vettel needs to calm himself down. I'm not sure if the bump was deliberate or careless due to driving one-handed and throwing the other around. Either way, he's not likely to get the benefit of the doubt from the stewards after that. Not helped by his politician level of avoiding answering on it after the race.

Also this Bottas first/second corner crashing is becoming a bit of a trend now.

  • I take it all back about Stroll. Second place was a great drive.

Did you switch off before the finish? :)

Would like to see the telemetry from Hamilton's car before Vettel rear ended him. Not accelerating as expected out of a corner may be his perogative, but actually braking would be taking the piss. Arguably as dangerous as Vettel's reaction.
