Thorn Nomad S&S Rohloff Complete Bike

Not sure if it’s OK to sell a non fix/ss on here?
One of your members who was interested in my bike suggested I put it on here before Gumtree/Ebay
He may have mentioned it on the ebay finds section???
It was too big for him in case you're wondering.

So my trusty beast that has taken me from Ireland to Indonesia is up for sale.
My cycling days ended in Bali with a still incurable arse problem and the bike was dismantled and put in a box and we both came home in the summer of 2014. It has sat in the loft of my Mums house ever since whilst I continued to galavant. I have finally returned and found a bit of time to sell it.

It's a Thorn Nomad (Mk1 / Mk1.5?) it's definitely not a Mk2
What this means is it's the old frame and forks used on the pre Rohloff Mk1 but with Thorn dropouts and little extras designed to be used with a Rohloff hub.
Unlike the Mk2 its not "designed" to be used with suspension forks and therefore doesn't have the strengthening gusset on the fork end of the frame.
I think the geometry of the frame is also slightly different from the Mk2 so Mk2 sizing from the Thorn website will have no correlation with mine.

If you’re looking for a showroom condition bike you're out of luck. This bike has seen some life but considering what it’s been up to its escaped pretty much unharmed.
It has plenty of scuffs but no dings or dents and no scratches that have gone down to the metal.
With a bit of TLC and mainly time you could have it looking good as new.
I just don't have the time.

If someone wants to buy it from me this weekend I will sell it for £1800.00 cash with all the included accessories, spares and tools mentioned below.
After this weekend I’ll spend as much time as I have free getting it in a more presentable shape and will put the it on ebay/gumtree with a starting bid of £2000.00

If you wanted to ride it home it would need a new rear brake cable or the present one would need to be un-seized. The chain will get you home put I’d put it on top of the list for replacing.
Otherwise it’s perfectly rideable. Brooks saddle has seen better days, but tires are good with plenty of tread and gears perfect.Its got spd pedals installed.
The hooter works, which is probably the most important thing and if honked whilst shouting Arse Cream! in Sri Lanka will get kids running from far and wide asking for your creamy goodness.

I've been a long time user of the Thorn bike forum look for RichieThornger as my user name.

As you'll see the fork steerer has been left uncut. I did this so I could attach two bottle cages to it.
The Thorn racks have not been put on yet, this was a photo purely to show someone.

This photo shows TWO extension bars on the fork steerer.
One is for mounting a bar bag, the other i used for putting ski bars on to to create DIY TT bars.
These were cheap and nasty and had rusted so I've taken them off now.

I find it hilarious that a proper nice 'expedition' bike comes on here and people start getting funny about prices. Have a look at Thorn to find out how much this would cost new.
