Yes, keen to know the number on this!

Right! I'll probably have to keep the wheels as well, for the price on everything else PM me

That gunmetal is such a nice colour. Dolan need to do an fxe in that so I can commute to work on something lighter than my paddy wagon. Love my paddy wagon tho.

just ordered a 2017 54 gunmetal pc frame.
will be used very inappropriately with 35mm tyres (hope they fit!) and a canti fork.
would need to sort some kind of rear brake due to local (berlin) regulation but I'll figure something out with an adapter or actually just drill it, no actual rear braking will be performed anyway.
will report back! -
• #3635
nah man, your drivetrain is considered as one set of brakes and the common EU legislature goes, that you need two. hence, you're good with a front brake only #ifyouridefixedofcourse

here in germany fixed drivetrain doesnt count as brake. germans and rules innit?!
had an encounter with fahrradpolizei about a year ago which let me off with a warning, with the caveat of fixing my bike (theres a post somewhere in the berlin thread, on phone, cant be arsed) and showing at a police station with the leaflet with remarks they gave me. so I made the previously mentioned adapter for a non-drilled frame no longer in my possession and that worked a treat.
looking fwd to getting the frame, it really does look tasty for the money with the smooth welds and all that. -

Or you could just pretend to have a rear brake by bodging on a coaster brake arm
-
• #3638
they check it when they stop you.
..or I could just be a law abiding citizen?!
..thats less fun innit?

• #3639
Sounds fun. Cx fork or road a-c?
I'm riding a new pre-cursa atm, was supposed to be a stop-gap and I wasn't supposed to like it, but it's great.
-
• #3640
I was hoping in the general not understanding of a fixed wheel, most people doesn't get it and they think it's a coaster

Edit - didn't read properly.

i need to decide to either go full beater and use the alu hybrid-ish fork or get the carbon fork from my pompino. i think i'll be lazy and use the alu fork although the dolan has the dura ace 7710 track stuff waiting for it so a bit more bling it is.
a-c is around 400mm i believe, more cx clearance.you bought the frameset with fork and seatpost and headset?
for an added 90 quid a very good deal because you basically get the fork for 50 quid (because headset 20 quid, seatpost 20 quid).you drilled the fork yourself? as i understand from the pictures the drilling guide is much more straightforward with the new batch of forks?
actually, i am now starting to contemplate to upgrade to the frameset deal if dolan would entertain me. lets ponder over the weekend. -

popo in berlin is well informed, back in the dayz of the fixie brakeless kraze (2009?) they'd load up brakeless bikes on the spot.
also, the only police generally concerned with bikes is a bicycle mounted police that cycle round here in the central bezirke, and whom by nature of their job description do know their shit re: cycling/road law. -
• #3644
I got it 2nd hand from a guy locally, but yep with seatpost, headset and fork. I received the fork drilled so can't comment on that!
-
• #3645
ahh that was quick, has already been shipped this morning. saves me the hassle of pondering. watch this space!

• #3646
I know this has probably been asked before but I've UTFS and nothing came up.
Anyone had any luck de-stickering?
-
• #3647
On matt black you just (over)spray with matt black (Molotov?)
-
• #3648
Are the stickers still noticeable?
I'd toyed with this idea just wondered if there was a cleaner method

To save me reading this thread can anyone with a new style Pre Cursa tell me if Conti GP4000s 28mm tyres will fit the frame/fork? I'm eager to join the PC club and while I'm waiting for it to turn up I was wanting to order tyres, but not sure about clearance.
I appreciate that running 28mm tyres on a track frame makes me some kind of weird deviant but this bike is to replace my old rusting bike and I've gotten used to wider tyres.... LOL
