  • That was just me laughing at myself by the way. Quiet and empty in here...

  • I also live in an asparagus growing region, so have a fuck ton of that to griddle as our starter this evening.

It is really difficult living here, with amazing herefordshire cattle, local lamb and gloucester pork everywhere.

  • Steak, marmite pot for scale

  • Just had a look at the pork belly I'd left roasting slow and low five hours ago and the bones are pulling from it super easy.
Just put the potatoes dauphinois on and when they are 15mins away from being done at going to put the pork belly back under a higher heat and crisp them up a bit.
Then going to braise some greens with chilli with some of the left over juice (fat and wet marinade) from the pork belly to finish it off.
God I love cooking on a Sunday..

  • These were delicious. 7 and a bit hours of smoking...

  • So ready to pick remains from my teeth right now.

  • Exactly what I'm doing.

Enough left over to do the same for dinner tomorrow :)

  • Finished cooking, now all in my stomach. Definitely doing that again..

  • Basically you should be true to yourself and uninvite your pesci friend.

  • ^^mate, that looks amazing.

  • "pescitarian" so basically, a dolphin.

  • someone who only eats squat 90s actors.

  • Any recommendations for places on the Victoria and Northern lines between Brixton and Euston? Got 3 hours to fill after work and before a train journey, would like to check out somewhere hotly tipped.

Booking or being able to wander in and get a seat is essential, time is a factor.

  • Nanban in Brixton is good.
Lots of cheap but good other options there too.

What kind of cost and ambience are you after?

I really like Salt Yard on Goodge St and Copita in Soho for tapas.

Also Flaming Goat on Denmark Street for delicious Thai like you've never had before.

  • If I had three hours to kill I'd hit O Cantinho in Stockwell, order the grilled octopus and drink my weight in vinho verde... I'm very jealous...

  • I was going to suggest that, in honour of you. But, it's a bit ... niche.

  • Is it tho'? Just an unpretentious, local joint...

I loooooong for their grilled octopus... Can't get any here... Unless I cook it myself, my favourite fishmonger moved miles away so I don't have a good source anymore... #cryevertim

Ambience-wise, Copita might be the one – can't turn down tapas in the summer months personally. Thanks!

    @>>>>>>

    O Cantinho
Haha, I knew you'd say that! It's actually our fallback... (Fishmongers in the market had a massive octopus ripe for grilling last week, might have to grab one.)

  • On a whim have just spent the last hour making meatballs, 50/50 beef and pork, sauted garlic, chilli, anchovies and onion, chopped up parsley and coriander and added in some breadcrumbs and egg to bind it all together.
Looking forward to eating them tomorrow

  • On another unrelated food note, had a £9.50 buttermilk fried chicken burger with extra chorizo (£1) at the sun in camberwell.
Which I thought was a good deal until it arrived and looked slightly bigger than a slider. #disappointed #brexitsbiting #noteatingthereagain

    Chips were great though..

  • the fuck is that!

  • That looks well shit...

  • Not worth £10.50, that's what that is!

  • Did it come with a toy and an activity book?
