Does anyone know anything about gardening?

I made the mistake of doing that to two of my trees a year ago. My stupid dog thought there was something tasty in there and dug two huge holes. He was not popular.

Since the mid-1980s and especially the late-90s, there has been concern as to whether using bone meal for plants might be harmful, as inhaling the dust can cause a form of Mad Cow Disease in humans.
