what do people think of this combo?
A bit 2015.
Would look much better on a proper leather strap, or oyster bracelet.
From a position of total ignorance; how hard would it be to have someone make a screwdown crown? Isn't it just a threaded shoulder on the crown, mated to a thread in the case?
Or is there more to it?

Do you find Nato straps comfortable? Although my 30ATM Stendardo is way bulkier than that Seiko, the black Nato drove me mad. I've put the leather back on it til I source a good actual waterproof diving strap. Also, I think striped patterns can look a bit naff. I'm all for a good metal Milanese/shark or bracelet or whatever.

Maybe look at the custom seikos. I got this from yobokies for about £100 which is explorer-ish (although that wasn't my thought when I got it). A look through his various custom stuff could get something nearer looking I expect
Just looking at the site, there's a Black Bay "homage" for instance, I imagine there's plenty more on there

I still really want an explorer but am in no way baller enough to afford one, nor aspire to ever afford one, given my profession and likely future.
So... what do people think of this combo?
Kind of a shame it doesn't have a screw down crown, otherwise it could be do anything anywhere watch.
