The only holdback factor of hyperons is the price otherwise the build quality is fantastic and they're such comfortable wheels. Since you wrote:
"Shallow carbon rims are silly" I got that you were referring to all shallow carbon rims, including the ones that don't sell for crazy prices and that's what I don't understand

On paper the only benefit is the weight which can easily be approached with aluminum for less $$$. Same goes for aeroz, you could easily build something faster for a fraction of the price. So I guess Hyperons are a little silly
