I had the same issue Jon mentioned below but with my original square taper version back when they first made them. Used to have to constantly remove the cranks and clean inside the taper and clean the BB spindle or they just creaked all the time.
I've had three different types of middleburns over the years... Given up on them now.
Once I get new cranks these are going.

Get a proper one with a square taper bb then. Or SKF ISIS
