  • caad4 track frames, of any type
can anyone with some decent google foo try and see how many caad4 track frames were made
or any examples on t'internet of them existing
    i know of 3 currently
    were they that rare ?
did they appear in the catalogue or were they special builds ? one offs ?

  • If there is anything wrong with the headshock I'm sure @Howard would love to take a look at it 🙄

Apart from the recall notice on some of the SR forks, sure.

That said if they are still around today they probably aint going to crack.

  • the catalogues don't show track bikes in 2000 or 2001

  • Catalogues are here http://vintagecannondale.com/catalog/

    knock yourself out ;)

It's possible they were made for teams and special events only.

  • been through 99 00 and 01 no sign in the catalogue

  • Seller wouldn't ship to Ireland sadly so had to pass on the Silk Road. Multisport seller not replying either so looks like my Cannondale dreams will go on the backburner for the time being.

  • Does the silk road make sense as a bike now? I imagine relatively tight clearances and a light and stiff frame compromised by a hefty squishy fork. I saw it on the bay and was tempted, but only if i could fit a normal fork but imagine a cannondale proprietary nightmare to ensue....

  • Those forks are pretty light. Fitting anything other than an SR fork is easy but kinda pointless - if you are going to have a frame designed around a proprietary short travel fork, might as well fit that fork.

  • I'm kind of bummed I missed out on it to be honest. Looks super clean!

  • afaik they were made for teams only. there was one for sale on pedalroom and the guy said he bought it from a team and it was a one-off

  • thats the one i'm interested in
huve is on here so hopefully he doesn't read this thread
there can't only be three caad4's in existence
there must be some still in riders collections or private buyers not publicised on t'internet

the price is a bit high on that caad4 but i'm hoping he might drop the price for a third time

  • the older 92's 93's go for so much more, but they aren't as rare or even team frames
makes me wonder why their price is high

  • i know, hipster tax, but still

  • makes me wonder why their price is high

    Because they look nicer :)

  • they do look nice don't they
    *swoons

  • Bought this yesterday

  • Do like this car part accessory look.

Does one send send off for these or just have a Garage on the side?

    Trip to Halfords?

  • Just putting the idea out there... Would anyone be interested in my system six?

  • my Commuter caad12.

  • Saw this on Instagram - What have you done to mount the mudguard stays at the dropout?

Need to find a solution for my CAAD12 Disc and winter

  • PDW mudguards come with little mounts that slider over the quick release skewer. http://www.charliethebikemonger.com/pdw-full-metal-fenders-hardware-pack-4878-p.asp?_=&variantid=9918&gclid=CPez1JeX5dQCFc2_7QodmmQB0A

It's worth being aware that you won't be able to run tyres bigger than 25mm.

  • Abstractly, yes, but I already have a preposterous road bike I barely ride :(

  • Just in case anyone is interested in the Cannondale SAVE carbon post and has a CAAD12 - I bought said post, torqued it precisely too spec and it moved. I discovered it moved whilst out riding it, and ended up having to over-torque it by what felt like a lot to stop it moving.

It cracked, or at least has started too crack.

I'm going to keep on using it, after I've murdered it with carbon assembly paste, which I should likely have used on first assembly.

However, it's quite under-sized, the Thomson post I had in before (a nominal 25.4 exactly the same as the Cannondale post) was rock-solid at 4.5Nm, whilst the Cannondale post went down like Trump in front of an engorged Putin.

  • Very disappointed in the Cannondale post, especially given it's cost.

  • Well now you can have two!
