Welcome to the family! Broken xenon angle control units, busted turbo, rusty fuel lid cover and seized hand brake in the winter (water ingress in cable outer) are the problems we've had with ours. 210k kms on it now though so not very surprising.

Sounds like classic stuff. Mine had the turbo gone (I think, previous owner not sure), rusty fuel lid is there, early rust on rear wheel arches and rear breaks needs replacing (discs, pads, handbrake)
Had a look at parts last night, dead cheap for decent stuff. Gotta love out-of-business car makers :)

Picked up a Saab 9-5 tid today. '07, 6k miles (!), pretty well looked after and for decent monies. Very happy.
I'm gonna miss the mercedes.
