It was great meeting you too @NorthLondonLight!
Was busy posting the picture and when I raised the eyes from the phone you were there standing admiring the bike...no idea where you'd come from :)I'll post the link the full album later tonight when my phone has synched with the cloud.

Thanks :) it is ace.

Unfortunately the pictures on my phone are big and the limit on the forum means I need to wait and reduce them before posting them and it's not easy to post links to them from the phone...but the one above looks crap :) hi-res ones are on their way!

Could put the high res ones on Flickr?
I think black tyres work well with those rims; a pair of gum-walls might be a little 'overwhelmed' if you get my drift?
-
• #56
Yeah I do get it.
The plan is flickr and onedrive, but not home, so no wifi, and we need to wait

Looking lovely. That last shot makes me think I should go for black tyres. Woof!

Hi-res pictures here

Lovely build, some great shots there.

The final build looks truly stunning! That being said I'm not the biggest fan of the all-black tires, makes it look slightly too chunky in my eyes.
And thanks for the info and offer regarding the bar plugs, tis much appreciated. I think black plugs won't fit mine but the tape looks really great, so I'll consider getting that. We'll see. -

no 7410 ?

No, the groupset was found in France, it's the older brother. Not sure of the exact numbering of the chainrings.

@shironish what do you think?

Plugs will be kept, just lost one of the repro :-(((

Thanks :)

Very nice. Look forward to hearing your ride report.

Forgot to update. It rides beautifully fast!
Stem in the end is ok, could be shorter, but it is fine as it is for now.
Wheels help a lot with speed and I was surprised to see her going fast as the frame flexes more than the Somec.
I think the wheels on the Somec are letting the frame down a bit :) -

Hello, how is you knowledge on olmo bikes? Is I've just purchased one and I'm unsure on model and year, what info would u need to date and identify it? Thanks daz
-
• #71
not that good...but do ask on this forum, there's a thread for that, and mention me, so I can have a look and see :)
-
• #72
I'll have a search and take some detailed pics. It has 27x1 wheels, chrome pantographed forks and full 105 group set.

The Olmo is getting a refresh!
This means that I'll have to hunt for a Campagnolo Super Record groupset to complete these parts.

Super Record on a '89 frame? C-record era record/chorus/athena would be a more suitable option imo. Really liked the dura ace, too.

Yeah I know. An inverted neo retro :)
That Olmo bar-tape is amazing!
