  • Sorry, did it tonight and not that.

Bit more pain this time. Maybe because of the placement, maybe a slightly different technique. After @young_gun saying, "...with hand poke you really have to just have a feel/ear for it..." I noticed that going in and sort of flicking out (as I have seen done in some vids) makes more noise than straight in and out, so used that technique more this time. Think I also made more of an effort to make the lines a bit more solid too.

Pic of the last one I did too, I think it has fattened out a bit.

  • Ouch!

  • It's really not that bad. Although this was more painful than last time I've still had worse machine tattoos.

  • Version 2 is for sure improving, but keep at it and go slower. You can PM me if you have any questions. (my wife is a Tattoo artist machine/hand and I do handpoke/tebori/tatu as a hobby haha)

  • Did a bee.

  • I poked my mate Dave when we were 19. It was supposed to be a magic mushy, but looked like a willy. I've not been brave enough to do it again.

  • Was at sacred art in Chorlton yesterday to raise cash for bombing victims and families, I got there at around 0800, queued with someone who got there at 0730, got seen at around 1300. I was the artists 16th person, was such a lot of people and a really fun queue (super British), a friend of mine turned up at around 0900 and didn't get seen, everywhere else around the city was booked up too. Sacred Art alone raised over £18k. Manchester is awesome.

  • Here's mine, wolf is about 2 years old and lemur is fresh today!

  • Ha! Loving the lemur.

  • Amazing!

  • Parliament tattoo are doing walk in flash day next Sunday (25th) all proceeds going to Grenfell victim support.

  • I "need" a cover up of the dreadful script I got on my arm nearly 20 years ago.

South east London way or out to the south east would be good. Who should I be looking at?

  • I live SE and all my tattoos were done North, East or central. Or abroad. It's worth travelling! But if you do just want a local random, I hear Kids Love Ink is good enough, and maybe someone on here mentioned King of Hearts? Also depends what kind of thing you're after.

  • I follow dexter Kay at king of hearts tattoo on Instagram like his line work, they are based down in new cross. I don't have any work from him but am thinking about getting him to do something

Plus @elsquire formerly of this forum was at kids love ink last time I spoke to him a couple of years back..

  • Sign up for Tatoo Fixers!

  • I have had a few done at King of Hearts. Sadly both the artists I have tattoos from have left / is leaving, but Dexter and Eric ar both top guys, love their work just not my style. And Liz and Sean who run the shop are lovely!!!

  • Don't get a tattoo based on proximity.

  • It's not just proximity. I'm also considering how rad they might be and if they do free coffee.

  • King of hearts do free coffee or tea even if you don't want a tattoo... they even offer top up for long sessions. That rad enough for you? ;-)

  • Winning the tarroos.

  • Seen some nice cover-ups at Never Say Die in Croydon but their styles aren't everybody's. Kali mostly does biomech which I'm guessing isn't yours.

Most reputable tattoo places in London will have experience of cover-ups these days. Find somewhere/one you like and then ask about cover-ups and they've probably done it.

  • South Korean tattoo culture is pretty interesting, especially considering it is still outlawed.

  • King of hearts is excellent. Dexter, Eric and Ivo are all TOP artists
