On mine what happened was the eyeless above the dropouts pulled out of the fork. The design is flawed because the eyelets have a lip but it's on the outside so doesn't prevent them pulling out. A good idea would be to procure longer bolts, a couple of nuts and some washers and bolt all the way through the eyelets and put a washed and nut on the back to sandwich the eyelet in the fork. Hope this makes sense.
I think I get What you mean. So did yours fail at the lower eyelet not the mid fork one? I've plenty of spare bolts so I might be able to figure something out. Trip has been amazing so far. I ended up camping in a cider Orchard in the catskills last night.
