This thread needs more bikes like that Geekhouse!... and less "crit" bikes.
Racing isn't cool unless you're winning.

Some people just prefer the look of the racing bike over the OG riserlyf setup. Some people don't. I think that hhsb has room for most tastes.
A lot of the people racing and enjoying riding fixed crit bikes (not necessarily winning) got interested through seeing builds that were deemed slave enough for this thread years back
I don't get the hate towards crit racing or their bikes that you seem to have.
-

Because they all look the same. 50mm chinacarbon on whichever mass produced Taiwanese alu frame their sponsor has given them. Sure theyre nice bikes, but not very slave

'Racing isn't cool unless you're winning' is exactly the kind of bro attitude that puts people off competitive sports. Fuck that.
If people have been riding/skidding/pissing about for however long on bikes and want to test the waters on the track/crit circuit, that's awesome. A route into grassroots competitive cycling which isn't racing in lycra in a club when you're 12. -

I do understand what you're saying, but there are differences between most frames on closer inspection. There's a wide range of finishes used on the bikes and some people/sponsors are going the extra mile to stand out.
I get that it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I just don't think they need to be chastised in this thread.
Without wanting to disrespect the old Japanese masters. You can argue that most NJS bikes are pretty much the same and the main reason for this is the old set of rules for gambling reasons that puts a larger value on those parts and seems to make them more valued.
The crit bikes that I see are built to perform well and look attractive to the Instagram/tumblr masses. It's all part of the racing scene and is designed to attract buyers to that frame.
It's not for everyone, that's fine. I just don't think that every time one is posted (and they'll get posted more and more) that we need 'boring crit bike' comments.

Thank you. That's the sort of comment that annoys me. It's quite an outsider assumption that people are racing to be seen as cool or whatever, but it's actually done for the enjoyment. It costs a shit load of money to travel and race and it wouldn't be worth it if you didn't enjoy it.

Youre missing the point. Differences 'on closer inspection' don't make something slave. Same reason full NJS bikes never get posted here. Sure, crit bikes do look nice and I'm sure they perform fine, but they don't fit the thread

"I'm not talking HHSB as in colour coded everything, supreme stickers and ironic saddle angle.... Just something kind of awesome that you would actually own or ride."
Crit bikes do fit the thread.
