An air rifle? Seriously? That would just piss them off surely.
You'd probably get yourself shot if the Rozzas thought it was real.

I got glass in my shoe at my local post office on tuesday morning after a failed looting attempt and my house smelt of smoke on monday night
Did you crash the car before you got it off the neighbour's drive?

^^ yep all that crossed my mind and I'm glad nothing happened. But 999 was dead, there were no police in the immediate area. A few pellets on the arse/legs could also have sent them packing, they didn't look that brave to be honest, the slightest bit of confrontation or hassle and they were moving on, it was all a big game for them or so it seemed. If my car outside my flat had have been torched it would have set fire to the tree, which in turn probably would have set fire to the flat. I had no idea what to do except grab the air rifle and keep an eye out, plus a couple of large rums for medicinal purposes.

Steak night last night, Crouch End Wetherspoon, no staff. Highgate Weatherspoon, closed. Fuck it let's go to the Flask, busy, bunch of fucking cyclists taking up all the space outside and a queue for the bar. Ended up going to Tesco and cooking for ourselves.
Go home, check the football results, bollocks. I blame the riots for that too.

- NurseHolliday&Cake -- Couldn't order pizza for 2 whole days from our favourite, Pizza GoGo, on Tottenham High St. We actually feared it had been burnt down.
- Brain-Stew - normal Tuesday evening spin class was cancelled so the instructor could get back to Hackney, meaning I had to go for a run instead and now my knees hurt

Shacklewell Lane: Kids came right past my window throwing shit into the road, followed by cops and riot vans throwing it back out again. Flatmate asked "are we going to die"? Contemplated our lack of weapons and feeble front door. Then the kidz torched a bus in the middle of the road, causing said cops to close my street for several hours. Then the infamous turkish dudes with sticks in Kingsland road finally made the kids go away.
And the off licence was shut. I had to break out the emergency cider.

I was kept awake by helicopters hovering about my flat for couple of hours, in the early hours of Monday after the Brixton looting kicked off.
Tuesday was sent home early from work, tried to by dinner on the way but all the shops were closed on the way back. But Lidl on Acre Lane saved the day with beer and bacon.

Kept awake on sunday night in Hackney with the bloody helicopter buzzing over my head. Bastard didn't leave until 2pm.
At my workplace, we closed down early. Left home early, which was a nice touch. No off license were open, so no stella's were available.

Skully - Was really very upset hearing fragments of all this on the intermnablenet whilst by the pool in a nice hotel in Normandy, with a none-too-shabby glass of Bergerac on the go.
Seriously though, Pasquale I am really sorry to hear about Santa Maria being attacked... I hope you can recover from this setback OK. I'll make the pilgrimage to eat pizza soon!

- EEI - my wife was trapped in Stratford for few hours (had to seek shelter in the hotel's lobby) during a running battle with the police there two night ago; I had to retrieve her from there after midnight, smashed glass everywhere. My 15 yo stepson was cut off from us in Walthamstow and had to stay at his friends when his own school mates were trashing the market and Bakers Arms. Stressed. I had to cancel my holidays and lost over £500 in booking fees (I should've bought a travel insurance beforehand); not impressed.

Anyone lost their jobs? Have their workplace vandalised? Anyone genuinely needs help?
My wife's niece is without work. She was employed by a brand new mobile shop in Tottenham. Nothing left from the stock, interior and exterior trashed. The shop was opened two weeks ago.

Are things likely to kick off again? Am concerned that there is a lot of anger and could be exacerbated by high temperatures today.

Obviously, let's hope not.
When I rode back from the Burger King (end of Bellenden Rd Peckham) I was shocked to discover groups of youths on my street and surrounding where the riot police had pushed them back they'd sort of dispersed and settled in small groups. Sounds dodgy but I threw my window open (first floor) and sat in the window just keeping an eye out with the news on in the background. Also had my air rifle in my lap (out of sight) just in case any of the little feckers started trying to set fire to cars outside my flat. I didn't know what else to do to be honest.
