I do understand what you're saying, but there are differences between most frames on closer inspection. There's a wide range of finishes used on the bikes and some people/sponsors are going the extra mile to stand out.
I get that it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I just don't think they need to be chastised in this thread.
Without wanting to disrespect the old Japanese masters. You can argue that most NJS bikes are pretty much the same and the main reason for this is the old set of rules for gambling reasons that puts a larger value on those parts and seems to make them more valued.
The crit bikes that I see are built to perform well and look attractive to the Instagram/tumblr masses. It's all part of the racing scene and is designed to attract buyers to that frame.
It's not for everyone, that's fine. I just don't think that every time one is posted (and they'll get posted more and more) that we need 'boring crit bike' comments.
Because they all look the same. 50mm chinacarbon on whichever mass produced Taiwanese alu frame their sponsor has given them. Sure theyre nice bikes, but not very slave
