  • I don't know who is advising these Tory arsewipes

gavin barwell, by the last count.

  • it's their katrina moment.

    sorry if that sounds glib.

  • if anyone wants the passcode to 10 downing street...

  • erryone chill, simon towel is releasing a charidee single.

  • I went to see it earlier. It's horrific.

  • what sort of commission does he take on a thing like that ?

i mean he won't do it for free right ?

  • *were green targets to blame * ...
Ffs they don't miss an opportunity do they ?

  • I think that's v accurate.
May's next move could be crucial.
Say for instance the Queen was to turn up before her and meet the community/injured...
What has been her leadership so far on this?
This tragedy cuts deep on so many issues - divided Britain, rich/poor etc..

  • hmmm, unless she opens up her gaffe to house a few of her neighbours, i'm not sure i or the people affected give a rats cock what the queen does.

  • I think you're underestimating how well regarded the Queen is.
You or I may not care but plenty of people do.

(My point was really to contrast with May's response.)

  • Leadsom getting a bit of a roasting from a local right now on Sky asking why TMay hasn't come down and met people in person
Bloke points out Corbyn and Sadiq Khan came down without a load of police...
    this is becoming a thing

  • Sadiq Khan had umpty nervous looking police in shot behind him

  • True but so much of this is about perception

  • Good on her for taking questions, asked if she would do a better job as leader at the end, on that performance, maybe, thought to be fair, punch and judy would do a better job! Maybot needs to take definitive action, this cannot happen again!

  • lols at the Mail ttrying to blame green regulations.

My partner used to be a surveyor in London and says that building control jobs in England were privatised a few years ago with obvious implications: all of a sudden the number of control orders drops to zero which if people are doing their jobs is impossible. It's that lovely Tory "cutting red tape" in action and I hope they are forever crucified for it.

  • ^ Very much this.
    Developers/contractors can essentially self-sign.
Just part of the 'all public sector jobs are bad' mantra of the Coallition naintained by Tmay's weak&wobbly government.

  • My mate was on relief watch last night at Grenfell Tower.. he said there isn't a fireman in London indeed the country that doesn't want to put a shift in.

The scene he has described in the aftermath, is worse than i could ever imagine. I just hope there aren't too many graphic images inside the tower block published :(

  • There was a PFI scandal in Edinburgh last year when a school wall collapsed and killed a pupil on a newly built school. Turned out they'd been allowed to self-certify and none of the walls were tied in to the rest of the structure. None.

All other PFI schools had to be closed for safety checks, displacing some 30,000 pupils across the city.

Privatisation of key services is just dangerous.

  • Queens turned up according to Sky News!

  • Queenie already there...

    Edit: beaten to it!

  • It's not really Queen without Freddy Mercury though.

  • They know they're fucked, so they'll do everything possible to delay an election for as long as they can.

  • Bloke "with a knife" tasered at Parliament gates

  • From what I heard on R4 last night, Sadiq Khan just about managed to give an interview while being heckled by a local woman without going off script or panicking. Did sound like he should possibly have spoken with the angry locals to reassure them he was on their side before trying to talk.
