  • I've had issues (as have SBC) building Stans and getting the wheels to hold tension (bladed and non bladed spokes) when combined with tubeless (Various Schwalbe tyres, Gravel kings and Horizons).
I've had a few instances of people reporting cracked Pacentis so I'm averse to them, but call that a bias.
WTB is currently at the top of the list. KOM 25's are silly light and plenty strong with all the lacing you could wish for.
I simply like the Easton ARC as they have a nicer profile. They are about 20g heavier though, but I suppose that's because they're using 6061 instead of fancy stuff. 24 internal.

Aside from that, maybe the DT Swiss 442 for comparison, but I can't remember whether they use DT's nipple system or standard stuff.

  • HG800 cassettes are awesome. Ultegra quality to boot. Really need to be double the price, but we haven't clocked on to the fact they're as nice and charge pittance for them.
I mean, realistically, you could have always gone for SRAM's offering in 34-36, but I do prefer them Shimano qualities.

If I had to go carbon, I'd just hit up lightbicycle really. Order rims, order Bitex hubs in any goddamned configuration that you can dream of (50g heavier than a DT 240's). Spend rest on CX rays and a decent builder to lace them properly for you. Sorted.
