has anyone seen the nice little japanese knife shop on kensington church walk
lots of pretty sweet knives -

That's jkc. I've only got experience with the Soho one but they are a rip off and do a half arsed job with their sharpening. Nice knives though but some are double the price they should be

has anyone replaced a knife handle?? I've got a cleaver with a shitty plastic handle, the cleaver itself is good and solid but the handle is shite. I have looked on line at how to do it but just wandered if anyone has done the same ?

I've only ever dealt with the baker at JKC but have nothing but praise for them. Great service, very knowledgeable and amazing sharpening.

Spyderco UKPK? Though tbh most of the time I've got either a little Opinel or a Victorinox Waiter - the latter especially is small enough to forget about in a pocket, passes the attitude test with no problems, and has the all-important corkscrew...

My EDC is a Boker Plus XS: sharp blade, strong spring, UK carry legal and less than £50 at Heinie Haynes.

This is my non-EDC, a Fallkniven F1 that I got from Massdrop.

Victorinox Electrician. Large + small blades (big one for food, the other for boxes, cable ties etc.), awl (for poking stuff you shouldn't use the tip of a knife blade for) and a bottle opener/screwdriver.

Victorinox 1340500 (it seems to miss a catchy name). The smallest I could find with blade, scissors, bottle/can opener and corkscrew (plus various screwdrivers, tweezers, pen, etc). A bit difficult to find though which is annoying.

Wenger Standard Issue or Victorinox soldier, great little pocket knives...
-
• #1724
I don't want to come across as too geeky, but that bottom one is a Pioneer, not a Soldier. Soldier doesn't have the keyring attachment, Pioneer does. I don't think you can buy either the Wenger Standard Issue or the Victorinox Soldier any more - the Pioneer is the closest production model.
And @aggi, that knife is easy enough to find if you look for Victorinox Compact, or search for the model number 1.3405.

Aha, a fellow victorinox nerd. Here's a test for you:
