13 is great until you don't have a monitor. The 15 isn't great, but big enough in a pinch. I moved from 13 to 15 two years ago and don't regret it, it's super handy when at clients etc.

It's bigger, but not big.

I couldn't manage with a 13", gf has a 13" MBP which I've tried to use for emergency work stuff a couple of times and really did not enjoy...

That and the inclusion of a file system in iOS is blurring the lines. I'm picking up a 12.9 pro at the weekend to use as a Wacom cintiq "emulator" and get the bonus of a pretty useful device. Cannot wait.

Our iPad 2 is becoming too much of a pain in the arse to use even as a kitchen telly.

A pro might be a bit excessive though.

if you can find a work justification for it then it certainly helps. I'v finally reached the point where I do a lot of drawing for work and need a tablet to carry around to clients - it fills that gap well - sort of minimal portable studio. Plus its the end of financial year here and I need to offset some tax. Just glad apple updated them in time.

Actually, question for anyone who uses iPads... 64GB enough or 256? how much space is taken by iOS?
I wont be loading much on. Mainly drawing apps (affinity, pro create etc) and probably no local media. it's a $150 difference.

Pft. Fat chance of that happening where I work. I'm also registered as self employed tho so could claim it back myself...

My keyboards starting being funny. Space bar and command key doing their own things.

If I restart it, the problem goes away, so I presume it's software not hardware. Any ideas?

This is true, however I choose the glass-is-half-full approach on this, which is that whilst Powerpoint remains a constant in my life I do get to stop using the Dell which I absolutely loathe.

I had to secure sponsorship from the SVP of Product Marketing to do so, which took a little while, but it's looking good now.

I think it was on the ATP Podcast that they suggested the best bang for the buck was the base level 15". I never bother with the CPU upgrades myself as I don't find it the limiting factor on much that I do ... which is Sketch, Ruby on Rails and foruming.

One task that I have to perform frequently is creating mock emails.

On my windows laptop I open an email in Notepad, edit, then save as "whatever.eml", which then opens as an Outlook email on the machine, if Outlook is installed.

On the new Mac I can open an email in Text Edit, but it won't allow me the option of specifying the file extension to save it as, I have to select from a drop down list.

How can I save a text file as a dot-EML, or convert an RTF file to an EML post-save?

First thing. Select finder ≥ cmd + , ≥ Advanced ≥ Enable 'show all file name extensions'

I generally dont have ANYTHING on desktop and dock to save screen space, cmd + space is very powerful way of navigating in context.

rename the file with a .eml at the end and you'll get a prompt as to which extension you want to use, choose .eml. Now when you open it will open in your mail.
