Hey Thuekr, this looks awesome - I'm just starting to seriously plan my own version of this, but bikepacking/wildcamping. What airline did you use, and were they iffy about having bikes bundled up like that? (seems like the solution to my main problem atm)

It was awesome. Yeah no problems with Finnair. When they asked I answered it was spare parts for a bicycle.

is it just clingfilm from the supermarket that you've wrapped around the bike a few times? does it make it quite rigid and strong? I need something like this so much...thanks!

Few times = a lot (75 meters used). Use tape and cardboard pieces to protect even further if you like. Tape ur tools on ur frame, cause you can't bring them in ur hand luggage.
