  • Wow! that's nice!
It looks NOS (or even BNOS)!

Thanks for the info too. It seems like a great project to be involved in.
Are the prototypes really going to be 'destroyed'?
I'm sure that I could find a home for one..... ;-)

  • @Shame, nope :). I did everything to find a production spot in Holland, but it did not work out. Even not in Europe, to many compromises had to be made. The amount of 125 piece, Gazelle testprocedure and all the parts that are specifically made for this frame. Especially this amount of frames in stable quality for a fair price was not possible.

@mattyc Sorry, no option for custom builds, there are 4 sizes 55-57-59-61. You can find all information about the geometry on http://www.gazelle.nl/championmondial. The geometry is like the old Gazelle geometry. The replaceable rear mech hanger is a fair point, unfortunately this did not work out. The head tube is machined out so the bearing fits straight into the head tube, this is the nicest way to fit the fork and headset.

There are 2 options, a Reynolds 853 and a Reynolds 953. They are both available in red, white and blue. The stainless version shows the stainless as well.

    Any more questions :)?

  • @MattG87, yes yes, they will be destroyed. All 8 of them unfortunately, we really have to. They did not pass the testing so if anything happens we are in trouble.

The project is truly great, I am very proud of the end result. It is truly more than I expected, I hoped it would ride like a modern bike, stiff and agile. But I did not expect that I would come so close to my BMC SLR01, it's great!

It is a difficult project as well because I know that whatever bike it would become it would not make everyone happy. That is fine, I just needed to make sure that I thought well about every detail and that I can explain everything. I think that worked out, there is a lot of attention to detail and every decision has been made for a reason.

The TVM frame got a small touch up at Gazelle on the red and black part. So indeed, it looks NOS! It is in very very nice shape.

  • Ahhh, but built by an eastern company which is being managed/owned by a Dutch guy?

    Sorry, just really curious :)

  • hahaha, nope. It is not Jan Koole :). Actually it is an unknown company in Taiwan, they produce a lot of High-end titanium. In the past Gazelle produced the V8, it came from the same company.

I am not sure if it makes sense if I tell the name, so I will keep it for myself.

Believe me, they do a stunning job!

  • you listened well compliments! :)

haha, cheers, I was not completely 'blank' on the project though ;) keep your eye out for the July issue of Fiets magazine (http://www.fiets.nl)

  • It's a shame.
Normally shimano equipment should be disallowed !!!

  • 'campagnolo vs shimano' thread >>>>>>>>>>>>>>

    'what is normal' thread >>>>>>>>>>>>

  • There is campa on the bike that Peter rides ;)

  • I've seen it.
    Love at first sight !!!

And the other with the Brooks!!

Can you please tell us what is the procedure, to order a frame?

  • nice to see the prototypes were kitted out with all 3 of the great componentry brands btw!

  • Sure,

During the event we opened the possibility to order the frames. This is not the real order yet, see it as signing in. Interested people can do this till August 9th.

On August 10th, the day that Harm Ottenbros became World Champion in 1969 (or Champion Mondial :)) we will announce who will be able to order one. We do this to give everyone the same opportunity to own a frameset. We expect to get more orders than we have frames.

The official order period for the selected people will be from August 10th to August 13th.

You can fill in the form at http://www.gazelle.nl/championmondial.

Everything is in Dutch, because the project is too small for all countries where we sell our products. We know the real enthusiasts will find us, like the people here. There are also some people from Germany interested. So you will be able to order one.

    Hopefully everything is clear.

  • Problem...
I'm Greek and I live in Greece.
I have a Dutch friend to fill in the form.
I also own a CM 100 jaar jubile.
    Do I have any chances?

  • so... when are you guys releasing the Gazelle 125 commemorative cycle caps? (I'd be happy to design it for you!)

  • Well, this is getting a bit more complex now because Gazelle does not sell any bikes in Greece. So we can't ship it there because of that.

Can your Dutch friend help you?

It is not the case that people from outside of Holland can't buy the frame, all countries where we export our bikes are able to order the frameset. The only thing is that we do not promote it outside holland and we do not proactively offer them to the account manager abroad.

  • No caps for now although it is a good idea. :)

  • Was I dreaming last Saturday? ;)

  • Aha! (Dibs any going spare!)

@HuVe - are there any more of these available from Gazelle HQ?

    Cheers,
    Matt

  • @baguette: Sure thing, it's a 56 for your information. Gave the wrong model year earlier in the thread.. It's from -92!

  • @mattyc, congrats, you just became partly designer of the new frame. I was still able to change the spec a little bit and the final frame will have a replaceable derailleur hanger now!

  • Hazaar! Excellent, thank you!

I've always feared binning my ti frame because of a mech hanger and the cost/hassle it would be to fix!

(Do I get a free hat?)
