I emailed the original owner with photos of the upgrades - he's happy that the bike is back on the road.
He sent me a period picture of the bike riding Mont Ventoux.

Obviously online bike fit etc etc but that thing would look so cool with a set of 50mm carbon rims and a slammed stem..

Also how does it ride? Does it feel safe?
Would really love one of these, just not sure how comfortable I feel about 20+ year old carbon..

I've not ridden it properly so I can't say.
It is on my wall of unused bikes in France.
I'll ride it next summer. Maybe.

You just need to ride it up the Ventoux now in the snow to complete the loop. Looks great.

@TM Too much money to spend on wheels for a bike I don't use.
@D_Mars Yellow pads are Halt Gooey, I find them really good so I also have them on my daily bike in London.
