It's like none of this happened. Perhaps Theresa May is a non-executive director.

"evolve" ...
discount codes already
then a massive summer salefrom then it will be down to the new owners if its worth trying to keep the niche market / price point
to be honest i only ever bought the hoy/vulpine stuff as you didnt have to be a "chic city rider" for that so appealed to me/other half (and i suspect a lot of the rest of the country) - although probably 1 out of 5 garments had a stitching issue and required replacement.

I really don't understand increasing the prices on the big stuff. The socks and pants are the same price I think.

There won't be any range changes as a result of them going under for a 6 months to a year. All this will have been under Nick - presumably the really late deliveries that caused some of the cashflow issues in the first place.
-

I was thinking 2-3 years but yeah. They'll need to get creative to shift the inventory and keep the cash coming in. I'm not sure how jacking up RRP helps unless they are targeting a different market.

Target market must be people so stupid that they could have bought the jacket in one of the many Vulpine sales, but now think the jackets are worth more because the brand may be on the verge of extinction.
I would hazard this is a small group.
Or in a months time the jackets will be reduced by 25% of this higher asking price.

Jack up rrp, discount by 50% next month.

From the figures floating around didn't they have a couple of hundred K in stock when they went under? Having paid £50K for it you'd have thought they could have dropped the RRP by 25% to a realistic level and still be raking it in.

How much of the 200k is 300 quid jackets nobody wants to pay for and unsellable Hoy stuff though?
-
• #636
I imagine the hoy stuff is now rags.
-
• #637
For all you sock lovers :-) plenty on there at £5 a pair now.

It's on sport pursuit....
-
• #639
Woo, the *best* socks for only a fiver :)
-

"extra" discounts now up....

• #641
Wake up mate - you took people for a ride and the wheels fell off.

Hussey told the administrators that the goal for the company from the outset had been to “build the brand as fast as possible, with an exit by trade sale after 5 years.”
So looking for shortcut to millions rather than any kind of love of the sport.

I like that he's blamed Brexit a bit. Hoping to get some support from the cycling lefties.
-

Whilst there is nothing inherently wrong with that, don't pretend otherwise right until you get caught out.

"Sorry babe, didn't do the laundry because Brexit."
Must try this......
-
• #647
Did some laundering though.

Ba dum tish

I am glad Vulpine are gone. I have too many garments I bought at reduced price that shrunk after first nor second wash. Kept being suckered by bargains that were a false economy.

I'm assuming once the stock's gone, Mango is unlikely to continue Vulpine as a niche brand?
Yeah. £275 for an urban cycling rain jacket. Riiiiight....
In fairness, the collection is far more focused than it used to be. It looks like their decision making is already better. They'll get a few things wrong at first but it will be interesting to see how they evolve.
