  • Yes! Looks great man. Glad you like it too.

  • The 3T will be up for sale with a lot of really lovely bits- I'm thinking £3000 including 2 sets of wheels (3T deep carbon 700s and 650b varieties). It's great. I just need to focus on other things at the moment.

  • @facsimile and @Jaap - great bikes!

  • Would be interested in 650b wheelset dude!

  • What's that transmission? 105 combo-shifters and 105 50/34 cranks, and what's in the back?

  • You can see a Jtek shiftmate just above the SLX rear derailleur:

  • Wolftooth Tanpan?

  • The new Pinnacle Arkose Di2 look pretty sweet, right down to 40t with a 11-46t cassette.

  • Yeah that's nice. Looks like fun, and good value. Dolomite LTD with SON lights too!

  • you could be right, kinda the same as a Jtek Shiftmate

  • Is there a 1x10 conversion thread? Would like to deploy on my Tiagra 4700 with RS500 46/36 chainset set up. Do I just need N/W chainring and more reasonable cassette? This is for lower gearing, simplicity. And a bit looks.

Also Topeak Backloader saddle bag from Merlin, £40 for 6L. Very pleased with.

  • Make sure to get a narrow wide ring with the right offset. Wolftooth make ones specifically for road 2x conversions.

  • Thanks for the tip. Wolftooth seem ££, so I was looking at RaceFace. Doesn't seem clear if 2x10 specific replacements, thought were all the same.

  • I'm pretty sure it'll be fine, I can't find any info on specific offsets, but just check when you get it it the teeth are offset from centre. If they are, make sure they are offset towards the centre of where your two chainrings would have been.

  • I've got a 1x10 setup with a 11-40 cassette, compact road crankset and 38t wide-narrow chainring mounted as the outer ring. This works great, sure it's a bit noisy when it's on the 40t of the cassette, but nothing that gives me problems.

  • I have a 1o5 5800 crank with a 4-bolt wolftooth chainring. The chainring is offset for better chainline. So far I've been impressed, no noise at all.

  • i thought offset chainrings were more for the varying mountainbike rear end widths, 135/148/150 ect

  • Or the wider crankset spindles

  • I'd thought so but later I realised it's an advantage to have the chainring a little inward closer to the bigger cassette, as even when you line the chainring right at the middle of the cassette, the chain can drop down a gear or two on the biggest sprocket if you backpedal ever so slightly.

(Although I know we should never back pedals but it's not something we can actively avoid doing all the time).

  • I have an Apex-1 group and the stock chainring appears to have some inboard offset now that I look at pics, however I replaced the stock ring with a race face 38t that doesn't appear to have any offset and it runs fine in the same outside position. Maybe the cranks have some compensation offset.. SRAM don't specify.

  • I can't actually find any other chainrings apart from Wolftooth that advertise having an offset, all others seem to be for dedicated 1x cranks, although reviews suggest plenty of 2x10 -> 1x10 converts are happy with RaceFace, Hope, absoluteBLACK and so on.
