Had this as a rental for the weekend (17 Camaro SS.) It's got the same engine and trans as the new Corvette (6.something, 455HP.) Bloody quick for a car and handles in a manner far more sophisticated than you'd expect....much more sporting, corners very flat, steers sweetly, no brake fade driving like a twat on the twistiest, hilliest road imaginable. LOTs of grip and a clever computer. 8sp Auto in track mode with the paddles is fab - I've not driven a car with a proper double clutch set up but this has got to be close. Fast and sweet cracks on the upshifts. The engine sounds marvellous- 6.5k redline for a big V8 is impressive, revs out well too though I'd say the power mostly done by the high 5s. Midrange shunt is immense.
The only downsides were the transformer looks (it's much better in the flesh,) low budget interior (rental grade) and terrible visibility. Out the front, all you see is a massive bonnet bulge. It's extremely tricky to gauge where the corners are. The front A pillar is a pain in tight left handers and it's wider than Del Boy.
