  • After a brief flirt with a Sony Xperia z5 (phone was fine, android skin average, ergonomics awful) I'm now loving my Nokia 6. Great value and feels really solidly built.
The skin is pretty close to stock (similar to Motorola), if a bit blue.
The camera is not amazing, but for 200euro it's fine. Hopefully the Nokia 8/9 will have a decent camera so I can replace the missus' ageing Nokia 925.

  • If anyone's thinking of buying anything off eGlobal, don't bother... My Nexus 5x got sent away for repair/replacement at the end of February, they haven't been able to get parts/couldn't be fucked to repair it so are sending me, at some point in the future (I have no idea when), a used fucking blue and not #everythingblack phone!?! Wankers, complete and utter wankers...

It was a four month old phone, brand spankers condish...

  • Ouch. Kinda glad that they were so useless that they couldn't even put the first line of my address on my package now

Did you order with Paypal? I'd see about raising a dispute, and either keep or refuse the blue one.

  • Getting annoyed with my phone going back into creepy mode after updates. Woke up this morning to it asking me if I remembered this day 2 years ago followed by a load of photos of the last holiday with my now ex who I've just gotten over, yeah safe google just how I wanted to start the day you prick. Then location stuff seems to all be back on too, I find it very intrusive leaving somewhere and my phone starts buzzing to ask me 'how was your time in X park?' 'How was Y restaurant, was the service good, are these opening times correct?' tae fuck wi yoos ya nosy shitebaws!

  • Anyone knowing how to root a Samsung A5 2017 with a mac (or without a computer ?)
    Dont work with KingRoot...
    TY

  • KingRoot

You might want to avoid kingroot.

Unless you enjoy having the contents of your phone transmitted to 3rd party servers in the PRC on a regular basis.

Look on XDA forums on how to root your device. Use a computer. It's very seldom more than a few commands you need to learn.

  • Last week I ditched the terrible Xperia z5 compact and got a pixel. It really is a good phone. Bit plain and boring but it does work very well and is very slick in operation. Only real negative is the cost. Can't help but think it should be $700 not $1079.

  • Managed to lose my beloved Nexus 6p over the weekend, so in the market for a new budget phone. Looking at the Moto G5 plus or the Lonovo P2 anyone have any hands on experience with either? Any others to look at for around £200 ideally decent camera, close to pure Nexus and a 5.2 screen?

  • I got a Moto G5 plus a few weeks ago. Very plased with it, although I am not what you'd call a power user. Massive improvement on my old Moto G (maybe 3 years old?!) Anyway I couldn't tell you anything I'm not happy with but let me know if there's anything in particular you want to know.

  • Thanks, think I'm leaning towards the Lenovo just because of the crazy battery life it promises.

  • I've yet to get the G5+ below 50% in a day. Although i don't do much apart from emails and internet on it.

  • Interesting, might have to re review my options.

  • hi all
i've aquired a nexus 7 (asus) tablet from work, but when I plug it in, nothing happens, just a quick flash of the screen then its dead.
anyone got any experience bringing these back to life, or is completely gone?

  • I take it's fully charged... if so it could be a loose connection to the battery plenty of videos on you tube.

  • Try holding down power button and volume down?

  • The new Oneplus 5 is looking tasty at a decent price.

Also, it's a duel sim phone, rare to find in the UK. I'd love to get rid of the shit Nokia 105 that work has given me...

  • Or battery below functional level - leave it "charging" for a day or two.

if all you've tried is to plug it in, see the quick flash of the screen and then post here... then, I'm sorry, you're fucked... in a lot of ways.

a day or two or 3 minutes. up to you.

in 3 months times you'll have forgotten the cost and be happy with your purchase. I've had mine 8 months and it still feels new to me, which is something no phone has ever accomplished I've had. grab a Peel case (or similar) and good screen protector for it. I have the Google case as well and it's great but bulky. I switch between them regularly.

I very highly recommend the Peel case and Spigen Google Pixel Screen Protector "full coverage". They work together in a way you'll forget you have protection on it. Cheap too.

  • Can anyone recommend a good website to buy sim free phones from?

  • @Mr_Sworld @Thuekr
I've tried all the different button combinations, tried charging it up overnight, taken the back off, unplugged the battery and plugged it back in again all to no avail.
I've read that the batteries in phones and tablets don't like being drained completely so won't charge up again once they've gone completely flat, so I guess this might be it and it might just need a new one.

  • The last update for the Nexus pretty much bricked it anyway or it did mine. Probably easier to get a new tablet.

  • I've got both versions. 2013 version is ok with the last OS it got but the 2012 had to get rolled back to KitKat
