I dunno, I think with the records being shown the current map that last year doesn't have much extra insight on the whole. Though it's interesting to see if people who've raced before have changed their strategy and tried to improve, as some clearly have not learned their lessons!

I don't like to call people out, but this is just disrespectful.

"I haven't heard why he's quit..."
Well maybe find that out before making yourself look like a knob?

That's that kid who rode IPWR and turned out to be a racist bogan. Fuck him.
-
• #584
Very young isn't Kavanagh? Probably greatly overestimates his wisdom and experience, while still having to develop a level of empathy.

what a knob.
And didn't Ultan Coyle complete TCR 2015 on a full on TT bike?
Ignorance and idiocy, ugh. -
• #587
Yeah Ultan is a ledgend.
And I think he's young and immature, I was too. But I had someone slap me into line, maybe he doesn't.

What a shitbird. His Instagram reeks of "mum and dad said I'm a legend". No doubt karma shall prevail.

Looking at his instagram posts, it also seems strange, that another rider fixed his broken dynamo cable and seems like in IPWR too, someone loaned him sleeping gear and food, even though looks like it's against the rules to help others, if you're not a pair, at least in TABR. Certainly is in TCR. But obviously I wasn't there so don't really know what happened.

That guys insta makes me a bit sick. Worried for him too. He hasn't taken any sleeping gear with him for TABR. Seems like a dumb move, but his comment that "if you're not living on the edge you're taking up too much space" makes me think he might just deserve the discomfort
-

I skimmed through his feed, if you think he seems like an obnoxious shitbag, read some of the comments...

WAC is all I have to say
-
• #593
They only make it worse! It's utterly infuriating to see someone who to the untrained eye is just another cyclist being such a complete waste of skin. WAC.

Race leaders are approaching half way point, 8 days 7 hours in. Hippy sitting around 20th and has churned through nearly 1,700 miles so far, including all the problems it sounds like he has encountered.

I'm not impressed either but I also think he's a young guy with a lot to learn. He got called out over the racist comment and redacted, so maybe he's learnt a lesson. Hope so. When I was his age I was full of shit, and making mistakes, like casual homophobia, and learning how wrong I was and how others perceived this shaped my personality as an adult.
Just keep that in mind before you blast him too much. -
• #596
i wonder how much ground hippy can make up once the course flattens out
-
• #597
Well, he says he's no longer 'in a hurry', and I don't blame him, his swollen ankle doesn't look too good. Others would probably already have stopped riding. I doubt that he's much in the mood for a proper tilt at it by now.

The Newton Bike Shop just posted a tour of what the racers will get when they pit-stop there shortly. Looks like first class treatment, especially for the bikes.

Drat, had to go on a planned road trip this week and will miss hippy's Colorado leg. Decent weather by the looks, thankfully.
Thx
