  • I had a bottle of Delirium from M&S of all places.
It's a 'Strong Belgium beer' reminiscent of Karmeliet Triple.
    I very approve.

  • Handy, now have craft beer retailer across the hall. He recommended 360 Session IPA.

  • Drank more than a fair share of Wildcard's Jack of Clubs ruby ale last night. Very well balanced - tasty, but not overpowering and very easy to keep knocking back.

  • Think I enjoyed the excellent can more than the stout though.

  • Having a couple of brown bear IPA courtesy of Aldi.... it helps bike fettling and is good!

  • Went to a gig the other night and, as it was loud and dark, just pointed at a random beer in the fridge. Had a swig and wondered WTF. Turns out is was this

  • Beavertown Humuloid DIPA is luvverly

  • Nelson hopped Schneider Weisse is damn tasty and comes in a 750ml bottle

  • It's boring, but ELB are really pretty good aren't they? Their best is ace.

  • Very good first pint after the election.

  • Just picked up Ice Cream pale by Omni/Buxton.

Trying to get Northern Monk Neopolitan to drink it against, hoping my l.o.l. comes good.

  • Northern Monk Neopolitan

L.o.l. owner had one can, his, in his box of stuff to drink sometime. He insisted I have it. I should go there more.

Delicious if a bit strange. The omni/buxton will have to wait until tomorrow though.

  • Got a Google alert that an American distributor has registered to distribute Westvleteren XII.

  • ^ easier to get then?

Ice Cream Pale much better balanced than the Neopolitan.

Forgot I picked up a Neopolitan Milk Stout too. Actually kinda dreading opening that as it could easily be awful.

  • They did a load of gift packs for USA only 5 years ago to pay for work on the abbey but this is specifically for single bottles. Maybe expanding?

  • Hopefully... so long as higher production doesn't lead to reduced quality?

  • Been a while... I've had some mediocre beers and some downright dissapointing/vile ones over the last couple of months which we'll skip over for now. Back in Wellington for a little bit and hoping to find a few gems.

My brain obviously blanked out the peat-overload in Yeastie Boys Rex Attitude (posted about it when we were in Auckland) and just picked up a xeRRex their Imperial strength version. It seems more drinkable at this strength. Still hunting for sours and saisons, picked up one that looks promising and grabbed 2 St Bernardus tripels on the cheap for good measure. Hope they travelled well...

    The xeRRex blurb...

"A celebratorily beer by Yeasty Boys. They said it couldn't be done, that it would be undrinkable and to be fair, many of them still do. . . But we like to do out own thing. This one off batch of Imperial-strength Rex Attitude is a self-indulgent celebration being awarded the Morton Coutts Trophy for innovation BrewNZ 2011 dedicated to all the peat freaks who have let us know how much they enjoy Rex: your love helps us through the hate. . . thank you.

  • Had a big bottle of wild beer ninkasi last night. Absolutely stunning and madly being sold in waitrose for £7.50

  • Variety pack of 6 Petrus beers being sold in Lidl for £6 this week

  • Hands down my favourite beer from Wild Beer (and they've done some corkers).

    Almost champagne like, insane stuff.

  • I know where I'm riding on the way home, hopefully oud bruin is in it!
