As the RAM questionnaire was done a few years ago, there is the suggestion that you should add '7' to your score to get a more accurate answer for up to date OS etc. It seems to work OK as a guide to me.

It might be enough for now, but give it a few years and apps will need even more ram. I'd go 16gb, especially as you use powerpoint a lot.

@Dammit, for what you want, the cheapest based model MBP is more than enough. Any yes, even customised specs Macs can be returned within 14 days, no questions asked. I have done it a couple of times.
