• I bought this enve copy seatpost of aliX, the post and carbon look and seem pretty fine. Only the clamp is shite, weak thread etc.. Impossible to loosen without brute force..

Also it is not made for oversized rails, ie. Brooks c13 carbon rails.

Now I've been looking around, and another seatpost the seller is selling is based on another clamp concept. He won't sell/provide the clamp seperate, but he tells it will fit either way.

Now I have come across this bontrager replacement set wich seems a match, also it as an additional set of 'ears' meant for oval 7x10mm rails you can buy.

Anyone experience with matching these parts or any other tip?

  • I have an unbranded post like the one in your second pic.
It's solid, but very difficult to get the tapered wedges to budge upon loosening (will require brute force) after it's previously been tightened.
There was also some excess carbon/resin/adhesive on the inside of the clamp bore (on the plane where the left and right-side tapers of the bore meet, i.e., oozing out from the gap between the two halves of the mould). The excess material would not have affected its function (tapered wedges don't reach this plane when tightened), but I wanted to be a little neater.
Assembled with carbon paste on the bore tapers and wedges.
