None.
On plus side, DUP aren't entering into a formal coalition which leaves Tories trying to rule with minority.
Their politics don't necessarily line up ... and with no ministerial responsibilities to keep them engaged the Torys will be either pandering to the DUP or alienating them

Without the seat gains in Scotland, the night would have been a total and unmitigated disaster for May. I suspect she can thank Ruth Davidson for that. I think she's the most talented politician (in authority) the Tories have at the moment, and would be the best party leader. I doubt she will be, though.

I'm eagerly anticipating the 'Apologists for Terror' headlines regarding the Tories deal with the DUP, with their dodgy Ulster Resistance background.

If the DUP were strongly anti-brexit it would actually be a pretty good lesser of evils. Unfortunately it doesn't look to be that way.

Apparently 'english votes for english laws' means Tories still have a majority when fucking over us on local stuff
-
• #3335
I don't think there are any pros to the DUP involvement. Honestly I think I'd rather have a slim Tory majority...

I wish I could be a fly on the wall in Buckingham Palace today. I bet May gets pretty short shrift.

Yeah, but it's much nicer when you're shot at by people you can relate to.

Osborne claiming in the Standard that two years ago the UK 'stood out as a beacon of political stability and economic success'. Bleurgh.

Yeah it's a shame, a strong RI party could really hold them to account and stop a hard brexit.

May going to Buck Palace at 12:30
As an aside. That's got to be a pretty awkward meeting. I hate it at work when you mess something up and have to confess to your line manager.
Imagine having to do the same, but to the Queen...

If I was Paul Nuttall I wouldn't vote for myself either ! At least Harry Enfield can shave now.

BBC currently talking to a yoof panel about their views on the result. The UKIP supporter - who spoiled his ballot - is a Simon Quinlank doppelganger.

Well. I genuinely expected May to increase her majority, however slightly. I wasn't just saying that to manage my own sense of impending disappointment. Everything seemed to point that way, but it's a good thing there's voters.

So, having partly won the last general election by painting a spectre of a Miliband-Sturgeon coalition, as in 'Scots ruling over the English', the Tories are now proposing to use Northern Irish votes to prop them up. Somewhat ironic, and I don't think it'll work.

I don't know where Chakrabortty gets the idea from that Corbyn would ever stick two fingers up at anybody, though, or why he thinks Johnson is 'authentic'.
Are there absolutely no circumstances under which SF would ever take their seats?
