Hippy loosing places.

I think his tracker very rarely updates every half hour. Perhaps it's stuck in a fat fold.

hippy appears to have called at the Blue Moon Saloon.

I was thinking of making a screen grab video with audio, looking a bit more in depth at the race analysis; would that sound interesting?
-
• #533
Certainly would to me. All the grand tours are in the wrong timezone to watch live, this is the only interesting race I'm keeping virtual eyes on.
-
• #534
would watch!

Would watch

Uploading, which seems to be taking forever. Was trying to keep it to 3mins, but it was 8! Apparently more to talk about than I thought.

Looking forward to it^
Right now, Hippy still pushing on. Only 80 miles off the top ten, but he's going need to stop for a rest soon.
At the front, Ben is doing another mammoth stint with no meaningful rest in the last 22 hours. He's managed to grind out an 80 mile lead, but looking at the raceflow page, it's been quite a grind. Jon Lester behind is six hours into his hotel stay.

Ben is doing another mammoth stint
I discussed this, I think he's going to suffer from this early enthusiasm, once we're into the later part of the race.

Hippy's movements and sleep have been too inconsistent. I'm going to tell him off when I see him.

Didn't we think that about Allegaert at first, too?
-
• #541
No, he sleeps consistently.

Cheers, interesting to hear you think that's key. I obviously have no concept of what's needed. Let's see how it plays out.

Okay 480p is crap, I'll re upload in higher quality. Time to go do some riding though.
But welcome to comments and questions.

Great stuff - thanks for taking the time.

That was good. So much more emersive than text / graphics. Thanks for doing that. Audio sounded good

Excellent! I find it hard to keep on top of tracking these things, so thanks! Nice to hear insight from someone with experience too.

Excellent work. Really helped bring the overall progress into focus but also great info on specific riders.
I'm a first time dot-watcher and this is making it a lot more comprehendible.
Thanks

👍 Very useful @skinny, thank you.
Have been following the group chat on Facebook but other than that, coverage is light on the ground this year.
Yeah, some dot watchers are totally annoying. There is a mountain lodge in Montana, just before Polaris, it's on a LONG downhill, and I sped past it. I wasn't planning to stop there, I had enough food and wanted to hit Old Bannack road while it was dry (notorious peanut butter in the wet). The owner of the lodge chased me down the road in his pick up and insisted we ride back up the hill to get food.
We got food (a plate of very average curry and rice) and an ice tea. He then made us sign a log book, and then charged us $25!!!
Would not stop there again.
