  • Zac's back

Can't believe this. 45 fucking votes. I wonder if the by-election helped in a way, that loss spur-ing more supporters for him to get out and vote.

Actually, looking at it, almost 30% higher turnout yesterday than last year. Pretty even split of that 30% with Labour ruining it by taking 5000 voters. Whilst I hate the principal of tactical voting, here it would have made a lot of sense. Bah

  • Andrew Marr suggesting that the DUP might demand May's scalp as a condition of a deal

  • But think of poor Zach, he would get bored if he couldn't pretend to be an MP

  • If Labour had campaigned on the premise of losing they would probably have done less well. Especially if they campaigned by teaming up with the toxic brand that is the Lib Dems.

Labour ran a great campaign after the manifesto came out which is why they've done as well as they could possibly have done. You don't do that by taking about losing.

  • LOL at the UKIPs vote share.

Less LOL at how shit our electoral system is that a party that get 0.91% of the vote get 13% of the seats and quite possibly significant political influence.

  • As much as I hate May, having her resign and another lizard take her place isn't really going to change he anything.

  • Except that he's on BBC1 right now

  • My home consistuency of Warwick and Leamington back in the red!

  • Ffs. The only relevant opinions he may have are that of an MEP. But he takes pride in not actually turning up to any MEP business.

  • 10 seats is not 13% of 650, it's 1.54%

  • Is Boris PM yet?

  • Has anyone talked about Scotland yet?

SNP have 37% of the vote after a disastrous night. The majority of Scottish MPs are now unionists. That's indyref2 out of the window then...

  • So it is.

Here's me thinking I was doing ok on no sleep at all.

I have a feeling today won't be my best ever day at work.

  • The majority of Scottish MPs are now unionists.

You may want to do a recount.

  • Mojorities number;

    Amber Rudd: 345
    Diane Abbott: 35,139

    Faith in humans restored.

  • Tories and SNP gain the most from fptp. LD, ukip and green miss out. Labour about even with % vote share and seats.

  • The fact that they have had a few Kensington & Chelsea recounts (and that the counters have had to go home for a rest) makes me think that the early rumours of Labour taking the seat might be true. In other words, perhaps the Conservatives are struggling to accept the verdict, and keep asking for another count. It doesn't sound like there is a limit on recounts, and the current record number of recounts is apparently 7.

  • Labour ran a great campaign after the manifesto came out which is why they've done as well as they could possibly have done. You don't do that by taking about losing.

    +1

They ran a great campaign with the odds stacked against them. They convinced me for the first time ever.

On a broader note, while I'm looking forward to not have to deal with my supreme leader gloating all-day, nothing about this election makes me happy.

Tory's called the EU ref to shore up their vote. Totally fucked up my future.

Tory's called an election to shore up their vote. Hung parliament. Throws the UK into yet more economic uncertainty.

Maybe a selfish perspective but I am struggling not to be bitter and full of hate for everything associated with the Conservatives.

  • That really surprised me... Maybe indyref pissed off too many people? I though Sturgeon did a great opposition on brexit.

    Conservatives though yay... :/

  • worked for amber rudd, sadly.

  • Teenslain foreva in r hartz

  • SNP still majority party in Scotland but have shed a fair few seats, including some real big hitters such as Angus Robertson and Alex Salmond, this should knock Indy ref2 into the long grass for now and hopefully the SNP will get on with their job and be a bit more accountable!

  • Maybe a selfish perspective but I am struggling not to be bitter and full of hate for everything associated with the Conservatives.

Surely that's just the feeling of being alive?
