has this been posted yet? Vice branching out to the metrosexuals who don't own an eco-fixie yet? -

Foffa waiting to happen... just one look at the site, his beard and philosophy screams ex-trader-man-bun-bearded-hipster-wanker
-
• #19783
Er? The last I heard was that he was going to build his own frames, so I thought that's what the article must be about? It doesn't say it clearly enough that the frames are self-built, so perhaps not. Foffa has never built his own frames.

Deleted as I was talking shit, frames are apparently made in London.

Sure, the article isn't very clear on that--the author seems to think that you 'make' a bike in its entirety if you put it together from a ready-made frame and bits. I just remember reading an article about him a while back that suggested he wanted to build frames.
This wasn't it, but he says something similar in it as in the other one:
http://www.director.co.uk/kennedy-city-bicycles-interview-2344/
“The idea would be to gradually make the frames that we do ourselves our bread and butter,” Kennedy says. “We’ve not been doing that long enough to say definitely, but the signs suggest that’s the direction we are heading in.
Clearly, as this is only from April this year, he hasn't put any such plan into practice yet.

Oliver, please just look at the photos. He wears jeans with turn-ups. Just take your pitchfork and stop trying to be 'fair'.

"Comprised of a track frame made from scratch in our Hackney workshop using Columbus Chromor tubing and fleur de lis lugs. The frame is painted one of four colours down the road in Clapton while the fork is copper-plated in West London then lacquered to preserve its finish."

Ah, I didn't look there. Good to see he's got it going. Also, he's now just down the road from me. He's moved around a lot in the last few years, from De Beauvoir Road to Hackney Downs to Islington, and now to Clapton.

Arrgh!
You only have to spend an hour in his den, amidst the smells of fresh coffee and old tools, to get a sense of the industrial magic and simplicity of his life.

@coldharbour - Why doesn't your workshop smell of these things?
Dog farts and stale cheese just doesn't have the same appeal

wasn't he dating a rather nice florist?* Double hipster whammy business. He'll get a gin still next... good luck to him though.
*why do I know this? because I read this a while ago, he's got a pretty slick PR machine. Beard was shorter though.

He's been around long enough to learn how to braze.
He says that 2/3 of the models on offer are made in Hackney, doesn't mention where the intro model comes from. -

I don't mean to be too derogatory, there no better or worse than pretty much every company in that regard. They do at least pay hourly rather than per deliver.
