Cyclocross - CX and SSCX races and training

With the 2017 sales beginning to kick off, the CAADX Apex 1 hydraulic is down to £1200, is there anything else worth looking at?

CAADX will be heavy af. Even more so with apex.

Google throws up 9.3 to 9.5kg, about ball park for the money(?). Rose 105 9.1kg, focus mares 105 9.4kg, Cube Cross race pro 10.2kg etc.

Not sure how much is in the stock wheels.

If being a weenie Canyon Inflite Rival 1, 8.7kg but another £450.

My caadx canti was fine.

Someone is now shifting them for £999! Who cares if it's a little lardy, 1x and hydraulic for that money seems rather good.

I really did not get on with my caadx, found the steering vague. Now have a focus mares which I find excellent, horses for courses and all that....

Depends if you had plans to buy one or not I guess. @harv4130 they are do it all kinda bikes so quite slack and long, not twitchy race whippets

ooof thanks for sharing. Close to pulling the trigger on the CAADX Apex 1 for £950 (but need to adapt the BB and buy a new chainset to run my powermeter, anyway..); self-build to my own spec is much tempting.

Weary though, picture and text says Rival 1 chainset, side bar says SRAM S350-1 which is Apex(?) and also Avid BB5 Road Mechanical Disc Brake 1/2 which makes no sense, unless it means the rotors(?).

I ended up getting just the xls frame and fork set for 250.
I've got pretty much everything I need but trp spyres. And a bb.

drop them a line, it also lists hydraulic brake levers??

Pinged them a long email; want the crank in 170mm too but can always buy/sell myself.

I've not been watching the 'Planet-x stock exchange' for ages, also weary if this is actually a good price and has 'bottomed out' so to say. If it's full hydraulic Rival with no substitutes, it is a great price.

It was bumpy in January, I hate to think what it'll be like in July.

The western summer cx league started in May, still 6 rounds to go if anyone's in the Bristol area. Entered my first one last week, which was a shock to the system to say the least
