142 mm rear spacing needed apparently so you'll need that and a specific Campagnolo H crankset

Right hand clicky clicky give me 10 speeds yes?
-
• #5804
indexed yeah .. I wanted to see if it will work with DynaSys rear mech .. never tried. I am in SE1 during the day if you want to pick up.

Centaur replaces Veloce as Campag's entry level group. Long time coming really with 10spd Veloce being more expensive than 105.

Interesting decision to make the cranks/BB Ultra Torque with Potenza the only groupset remaining with Power Torque.

New potentza hydraulic has a ultra torque chainset apparently
-
• #5811
Apparently mechanical Potenza has Ultra-Torque now too I've read. Just over a year since they launched it with Power-Torque+ ?
-
• #5812
Dunno where you read this but everything I saw said standard 135mm rear spacing.

I've got 4700 and 5800 running on my bikes at the moment. 4700 front shifting is excellent but requires slightly more of a "push" than 5800.

I've got nine speed Chorus on one of my bikes. I'd quite like a compact chainset on it, how feasible would it be to put the new Centaur cranks on it ?
Issues around 9 speed chain on 11 speed rings ? Front mech shifting issues ?
-
• #5815
I've done it ok (not Campag mind you). You might have some chain rub issues if you are in an inner ring/small sprocket combo but otherwise it seems fine, a bit noisier maybe when the chainline is not centred but not enough to make me want to change it.

Can anyone help with Sram MTB/Road compatibility? I've just picked up a Red 10 speed road shifter on ebay for a 1x10 'cross setup. I'm under the impression the 10 speed MTB stuff will work with this shifter? Ideally I'd get a 10 speed clutched mech like the one below, mostly for the good cable routing (mine comes down the seatstay) and long cage to fit an 11-36, but the clutch cant hurt given I don't have a chaincatcher. Think @Howard might know a bit about this?
-
• #5817
IIRC if they are both "exact actuation" you'll be groovy.
-
• #5818
They're fine. I ran a Sram red shifter with x9 type 2 clutched rear mech last year, runs perfectly. If you're doing it 1x I'd get a clutched rear mech, if you have a front mech then it's not so necessary
-
• #5819
Red 10 speed + x9 short cage type 2 will do 11-36 no probs.
-
• #5820
Cheers all! Does anyone want to sell me a mech that will work? I also need a LH lever that matches the 10 speed road one

Cheapest Utlegra group at the mo?
-
• #5822
If you're buying Utlegra groupsets I don't think anything Shimano has to offer is likely to be cheaper.
