I am joking. But no, now that I am used to riding with a base layer, I find riding without one to be really gross actually. I find that a base layer helps regulate my temperature far better, helps wick sweat away from the skin. Keeps me warm when I'm cold and cool when it's hot. Purely a personal decision.

Personally, I don't find wearing a sleeveless mesh base layer under a summer jersey to be cooler than without. Triumph of marketing?
