People starting statements with "So"

So annoying.

irish people do this a lot.

they also end sentences with 'so'.

they should all be locked up.

Ha! I meant more like "So there was this guy, like, literally overtaking me? Just wow."

People from the South do that, in the North we're more eloquent and possess a broader vocabulary and extend it to "so it is".

Just the fact that there is such a word. It's enough of a fucking thing that it needs it's own word, not just 'taking a photo of yourself'.

Tautology, surely. Are furtive selfies even a thing? How would you do that? Hide the phone inside a parasol?

I tape my phone to a baby and then hold the baby up in front of me and make gurgling noises at it. Luckily, my baby-gurgling face is exactly the same as my instagram-pout face.

Gobsmacked is a word that really annoys me.

Overwhelm is an irritating word. Whelm means to overcome, submerge, engulf. Which makes the 'over' bit a little superfluous.

There I was, happily drowning away at the bottom of the canal, when it started to rain as well. Left me feeling totally overwhelmed, it did.

I also dislike gutted, but I find myself using it a fair bit. I need to find a good synonym and force it into usage.

Describing something as 'very original' is annoying. Someone on 6 music said that yesterday and it made me grind my teeth.
