I've trying to get out the LFGSS and Twitter left leaning echo chamber to get a more balanced picture of other people's views. Especially trying to nail down some good reasons why so many people seem to intend according to the polls to vote Tory..
Looking at other forums, local neighbourhood discussion groups etc. Struggle to find any tory opinion other than Maybot type comments about Corbyn and Strong and stableness.
Seems Torys are a silent majority

I think kneejerk conservatism is the default for a lot of people, peppered with talk of Labour tax rises and Corbyn being a wrong 'un. Which, sadly, is probably why the anti-immigrant, anti-EU thing has been such a godsend to the Tories in terms of actually mobilising more than just their base.

My sister's neighbour is a car mechanic. Not a very good or successful one by all appearances as he never seems to be working. His wife is a nurse, she works predictably hard. He's an overbearing, annoying, lazy gobshite who doesn't look after their kid whilst his wife is on night shift, and freely offers up that he votes Tory "because why should I pay for someone else to do nothing."
Firstly, not many working class Scots will ever admit to voting Tory, even if they do secretly, so already he's a stupid cunt and secondly, if anyone will lose out from a Tory government being in power it's him so what is it George Bush said....

This kind of thing is typical - commenter's kneejerk reaction is that Corbyn'd be a disaster that quickly unravels when he thinks about it

Those troublesome ex-girlfriends, eh?

Some farmers I went to school with have posted a few Diane Abbott videos, and trotted out the old 'fiscally irresponsible' shite.
What's been heartening this time is a lot of other old school friends who weren't particularly political have been chipping in this time.
I also got talking to a chef on a train back into London on Sunday (who is on Great British Menu this week), and he hasn't voted in the last two elections but has been pulled back in by Corbyn.
The spiel about him winning over some people who were previously disenfranchised does have some merit. Sadly I don't think it will be enough.

Wasn't there some discussion about the legality of stickering/fly posting in the 'Cyclists stay... ' posters thread some while back that mentioned permanent adhesive versus peel it off ability ?

Are you gonna tell your grandkids you posted your faux-banksy bullshit with 12 quid-a-can spraymount?
They'll call you a bougouis urban-elite libtard ..... and you'd deserve it.... use marxist glue (basically ideological wheatpaste).

Not wanting to vote for the liberal metropolitan elite (LFGSS is probably what many would define as this).
Concerns about a soft Brexit, in particular Labour being soft on immigration.
Corbyn (and McDonnell) being IRA sympathisers.
Not supporting the armed forces, Trident, would you want him in charge in a military crisis.
Falkland Islands and handing them to Argentina.
Would you want Diane Abbott as home secretary given the recent terrorist issues.
Diane Abbott full stop.
Fiscally irresponsible, there'll be a few years and then the Tories will have to bail them out again. (That note that Liam Byrne left really didn't help)
If his own party doesn't support him then why should I.
(This is generally from people I know from home, a Northern working class town that hasn't had a conservative in power for 100+ years, but is very pro-Brexit. A fair few of the comments are from those who've voted labour in the past.)

To have any chance we need to start in the middle with widely recognised branded glues, then work our way towards the fringe glues as we gain momentum.

That's a good article @h2o
But I'm worried how these points are presented/misrepresented. Pleading 'racism' is counter-productive.
If your left-leaning it's important to acknowledge almost nobody cares about racism or 'bullying' as much as you/us.
In fact when Paul Mason cried 'racist' regarding Abbott's coverage it made The Sun front page. The optics are terrible.
