I've read that compressionless cable housing are a nice must when running BB7 brakes.
Any idea of which ones?

Or LifeLine for even cheaper
-

Not all compressionless are created equal. The lifeline stuff isnt as good as the yokozuna stuff (I've used both). Lifeline is good for rim brakes but I'd always go true compressionless with cable discs

• #6
Ah Turkish you're so wise.
Didn't think they would be that good considering the price. -
• #7
Jagwire
Which ones?
Looking at the pricing of the Yokozunas I'll just cheap out a little bit. :)
-
• #8
Haven't used them so can't be more specific I'm afraid

Thanks Heldring!
Doing the stealth black ones to fit the raw frame.
Also bought the last bits for it to be a complete bike.
Going with KCNC PF30 BB, and the KCNC Kudos Q1 headset for some matchy matchy type thing.

Now I can not for the life of me find any other cable guides that could work for my frame exept the Ragley ones on CRC. Are those the only ones that could work? I would want to run full outers so I can fit a full framebag.
I'm still not sure how I will route the rear disc brake cable on this either.
Reusing psee's picture as it's exactly the same frame.
If I was to route it slightly under the TT, would the Jagwire hose clips be OK as holders? https://www.bike24.com/1.php?content=8;product=53063
What guides are on this? I like the routing.

Why not have some brazed on? Doesn't cost much

It looks like there is provision for this:

Mtb platforms, probably more cheapo than anything. Mine will sport transparant ones!

Build up the same frame using these. I am running 1x10.

Am in dealings with a builder but I kind of want to build this up quick and dirty to get a feel for it. I have 22km commute that I want to utilize now when the weather allows for it.

Damn, getting giddy now building this up now. Thanks for sharing! PM on the way with some questions.
How tall are you and what size stem you got on there?
-
• #23
187cm with longish legs. I was kind of inbetween sizes so went for the smaller frame. Stem on this photo is 120mm. Might change to a shorter one as handlebar reach + sram hydro shifters makes this quite long. Bike is kind of heavy when picking it up but it does feel fairly fast while riding. Will be touring the Alps on it this summer and may get some 650b wheels for some off road action if funds allow later this year.
Build it up! Looking forward to it.

So this is the paintscheme I'm going with. Always loved the 90's splash paints on mtb so why not. This is a bit more subtle maybe but does the job of splashyness.

Anybody know if these IS to PM adapters works with Avid BB7 brakes? They're branded Shimano but at 5 quid a piece and if they work I wouldn't mind, not that Shimano is bad just no matchy matchy.

Had a thread that I foolishly closed thinking I could unlock it; nope!
So here we are again.
On with the BUILD LIST:
GOT
Frameset: CNC-bikes Gravel in L
Fork: Poison Cygnet 700c
Finishing Kit: Alpkit Love Mud Bomber Bars / Love Mud Stem / 31.6 Membar Seatpost
Wheelset: Planet X WTB i-23 / El Guapo Rattlesnake / 9mm solid front axle / El Guapo QR 135mm
Rear Mech: Shimano 5800 Medium
Cassette: Shimano 5800 11-32
Drivetrain: Shimano 105 Compact 50/34
Brakes: BB7 Road SL
NEED
Bars: Ritchey Evo Max 44cm
Tyres: WTB Byway or Horizon
Disc Rotors: Cheap ones from CNC
BB: KCNC PF30 BB
WANT
Brakes: Juin R1 Mech/Hydro
Drivetrain: Praxis Works Alba with 46/32 Buzz Rings
I can turn my build plans on a dime. Expect nothing to be as it's written ha!
So, the build as of now is to go full 105 5800 drivetrain/brifters with the 5800 11-32 at the back. Might do 1x in the next step or not at all.
Going with Ritchey EvoMax 44cm bars instead of the Alpkit dirtdrops as I'm not really comfortable in dirt drops.
KCNC bb and KCNC Kudos Q1 headset is on order as well as the EvoMax and the Byways.
