  • Is there a good place to get race coverage?

I've found the tracker but is there a blog with daily updates somewhere?

  • Not fouind anything - Twitter / facebook is your best bet + the tracker.
Andrew Suzuki has shermers so needed a long rest.
Some people have dropped out including Jan-Willem Bobbink, who started well but had knee issues.
Hippy is remaining cheerful in the face of adversity

  • Andrew Suzuki has shermers so needed a long rest.

We all know what happens to young pretenders, who go out like a raging bull.

  • You got a lot further first.

  • Yeah getting neck issues in 2 days takes some going. Not seen that before.

Shame there isn;t a blog on the race, with daily news from the road.
Just following hippy gives a poor view on the enjoyment factor of the race!

  • I remember that there was last year: https://transambikerace.com/2016/
So hopefully one will pop up on the home page at some stage.

  • hippy's making good progress again, by the looks of it. He's nearly in Baker City.

  • Negative splitting his way across America

  • Not sure quite how Trans Am is organised or their social media is run but it was Nathan Jones who pulled it all together the first time. He's currently racing around the world, so maybe the coverage will be a little light this year...

  • Benjamin's pace doesn't seem sustainable!

Edit: to include top 5. From 1-5.

  • It all about the nipples in '17.

  • There's an opportunity here - in a few years time all riders will be wearing a Hippy Bra [TM]

  • Benjamin's pace doesn't seem sustainable!

Yes - interesting to see them set out like that. You can see he is tiring as his speed is much more variable than the others (or maybe that is rubbish and his tracker is just set to update more frequently!)

Sleep strategy is a big thing and I got some new ideas about it when I was on the IPWR, that I only half-implemented. Next time...

  • Yeah everyones different and can run off different strategies and amounts. But to push the envelope so early in a 4300mile race is asking for issues later.

  • Everyones favorite aussie isn't having a great run so far.
Hopefully ones it gets to the flat his issues subside and momentum picks up.

  • Rolf Harris?

  • No, he's now everyones least favourite immigrant aussie, due to some poor life choices.
    The only and only Hippy.

  • Too soon

  • I'm following TABR and keen on posting some info on it, what kind of info and dissection would people want to see?

  • What ever you think is relevant given your experience! We can all make our own guesses/analysis of what's happening but it's another person's take on things that's worth reading.

  • Holistic race overview, contenders for lower positions and the races within the race.

Conjectured or pieced together stories from whatever social media evidence exists... I.e. we know hippy's rim and nipple troubles and gooch watch, but what of the other riders?

Any insight you can offer 😁

  • We watch the dots, but we mostly watch the leaders and the ones we know... Who else should we watch and when.

  • I'm finding your Twitter analysis interesting, so more of that with more insights please.
